I am interested in making a gun, because i am bored, and that is what some people do when they get bored. i want to make a semi-auto airsoft gun, that does not have a compressed air tank behind it, that it can run like a paintball gun, and have a CO2 tank attached. plz help

You're probably going to be looking at a cloud or a vortex design, with a regulated co2 air source. Shouldn't be hard...

well, i was also thinking about a shell ejection system like on boltsniper.com, except these are nerf guns, and i was going to modify it to hold a smaller shell and to have a smaller barrel. what ya think? because i am not into the cloud or vortex gun types.

Do you have any past experience with auto-loaders, firearms, airarms, etc.?
Oh and,
Welcome to the forums!

If you're thinking about making a fully automatic airsoft gun with shell ejection, you're talking about literally MONTHS of designing and building. Think about it before you bite off something bigger than you can chew.

ty for welcoming me, and uhhh, i just wanted to make a shell ejection system pump action for a sniper
You said in your original post you wanted a full-auto gun, whatever tickles your pickle.
Shell ejection is going to take months, whether it's pump action or automatic. I can give you a few design plans for a semi/full automatic airsoft rifle (smoothbore, whatever, judgement arms) without shell ejection, however.

Perhaps you should consider making a scattergun, use BoltSniper’s FAR only fill the shells with airsoft BBs. If you go with the FAR the “AR15 main spring” is more commonly called the buffer spring.

I was thinking of ways, and i got a revolver type rifle idea, it would be fast single shot fire, no bolt action single reload... if picture does not work, then http://www.freewebs.com/ghuojaho/wierd%20rifle.bmp is the link

you could try this design I thought of it involves modding a broken clip fed cheapo AEG, if you don't got a broken AEG then buy a cheapo gun and it will break soon, to mod remove the gears motor just leave the piston, then glue the back piston in place and add a light backward pulling spring or band on the front piston then drill a hole thought the back piston, and attach your air source, the when air blows in pushes the front piston forward I never treid it,
but it just happen that I'm making a semi marble/paintball gun just with the crap stuff I have in the shop since my dad is too lazy to drive me to the hardware store

Looks kind of like the old Colt 1855 revolving rifle, care to explain how you plan on making it work? I’m in the process of make a revolving longarm and would like to know how you going to work out the cylinder advance mechanism and get the air from the chamber, through the cylinder, and out the barrel.Kol25Stray wrote:I was thinking of ways, and i got a revolver type rifle idea, it would be fast single shot fire, no bolt action single reload... if picture does not work, then http://www.freewebs.com/ghuojaho/wierd%20rifle.bmp is the link

well.... lol, i am gonna have a trigger, that when pulled is gonna revolve the clip thing... umm then i was gonna have a lever that i pulled back, and when released with the trigger being pulled , releases the plunger forcing air through the cylinder and out the barrel, ummm this picture will show... but my origonal gun design was gonna use a cap, and a homemade shell and maybe some chemicals to propell a airsoft bb through the barrel and at the enemy! i will have to make metel casings and have a sturdy target, and experiment... yes what i am doing is DANGEROUS!!!! lol i know ive heard it alot... anyway here judgement_arms, this is a sketch of what i can maybe help you with... here is the link: http://www.freewebs.com/ghuojaho/revolver%20setup.bmp

Ok I got that part, you picture never showed the spring chamber.
What I was wondering about is your cylinder advance mechanism, do you plan on using milling machines, lathes, etc., or are you going to make it all with a drill press and a Dremel? And ether way are you doing double action or single action trigger, does the hammer do anything besides look pretty?
As for chemical propulsion, you’re not talking black powder are you? And by “cap” do you mean a primer cap like the ones used on muzzle loaders? Sounds to me like you’re planning on making a full-blown firearm, which, last time I checked, was illegal no matter were you live. Even if you gun just uses a primer cap it’s still considered a firearm. (I didn’t just tell you that you can make a very effective airsoft gun that uses nothing but a primer cap to fire. That would be dangerous, just because you can get every thing you need, save for the nipple [the thing the primer goes on], at the hardware store doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.)
Sounds to me like you discovered the same thing I did; it’s easier to make an automatic 12GA than a repeating airgun.
