I was wondering what is the most powerfull type of gun because my friend said that his 3 foot long air pressured gun can beat my 6.5 foot long combustion gun. Is he right or is he just trying to win this argument? And can anyone give me a hint or tell me what a hybrid gun is i keep seeing it everywhere over forums but i don't know what it is. Is it like a sorta combustion/air gun? post back

well the hybrid gun is deff the most powerful but to complex and costly for someone like me to build so i will stick to the middle and say phuenmatic wins for praticality. my 3'x3" chamber 6'x1.5" barrel dishpan gun can put a spud 200-300 yards in a hurry.

hybrid guns are very dangerous. after reading what happened to you i highly suggest not venturing into hybrid guns. a hybrid gun would have killed you if you were holding it like your other gun. Hybrids use propane and compressed air. propane has to be between 3-5% of the volume of your chamber to ignite this is a regular combustion. hybrids use 2,3,4,5 times the propane as a regular combustion. you inject enough compressed air to bring the extreme amount of propane back to 4%. this leaves you with a large volume of propane and a pressurized chamber witch produces vastly more power than any gun possible.

well, 3*105=6.5*50 (ok, just about)
Meaning that, chamber volume asid, they are almost exactly as powerful as each other.
(the 50 is the pressure of the combustion gasses, roughly, and the 105 is the pressure he would have to pressurize it to to be as powerfull, valve efects ignored)

This means that the pnematic will beat it*, as it almost certainly has a much oversized chamber.
(*for not for light loads, below maybe 20/g/inch2 - otherwize valve flow-restriction effects become quite important.

I'd say a steel walled combustion with oxy, propane and nitrous oxide as fuels. What can I say? The bigger the boom the more fun yet scarily dangerous it is

Pneumatics are just plumbing
Combustion, wiring is involved too+ gasses

Its just a generalisation of the basics needed for each. Its possible to make a combustion thats more complex and powerful than a hybrid if you really felt like it.

No its not, a hybrid essentially is a combustion its power is from combustion so therefore a hybrid and a combustion of equal sizes teh hybrid will out perform the combustion.
