Im making it on the sly in metal work. All Ive done so far is half build the chamber. The chamber is going to be about 30cm long and about 4cm round. Im making my own coupling to incorporate a marble barrel. Thank god I have my own oxy though 8)
Raise your horns if you love metal.

Like Spudblaster said, you can take it to the extreme and use more exotic fuelling that could be lethal in a hybrid.

For the most power I would stay with a pneumatic. A 5' 4'' chamber and sual modded valves work really good. But if you do your research and plan everything out you might be able to build a Hybrid.

But I would advise against building one until you have made some of both, and you under stand the propane metering system. And stun gun ignition etc

Hmm, the poll question is trying to ask two different questions.

Powerful can be quantified - penetration, kinetic energy, all of these things.

Better is an opinion, and depends on the user - if one type of cannon were "better" for all users, then we'd never see any other type of cannon.

Perhaps this needs changing.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

You could build a hybrid without using any meters or pressure gauges at all (operate it in the aerosol-combustion fashion), and you can build a combustion with meters, gadgets, and accessories out the nose.

Similarly, you can build an enormous combustion and a tiny hybrid - and the combustion will outperform the hybrid.

Hotwired's point stands.

It's worth noting, though, that the only point where these things are pretty much written in stone is in regards to maxium muzzle velocity - which, neglecting fancy atmospheres (helium and the like) goes like this:
hybrid > combustion > pneumatic
