Maybe you could hollow out a tater and fill it with some sort of cheap, brightly-colored paint. IDEA! Maybe you could make a pvc tube with a piston inside and a spring to puch it, fill the space opposite the spring with paint. Basically, tube with a spring and piston of sorts with a removable endcap. fill the space on the side opposite from the spring with paint and screw the endcap on, endcap with a ver small hole so the paint would be pushed out at a slow steady rate and you could follow the trail on the ground.

I remember seeing a pair of golfball finding glasses...the lenses made the white, glow, when looked at through the glasses...
Movie dialogue: "The good die first."
Tom: "But most of us are morally ambiguous, which explains our random dying
patterns."

well my friend and i just used a fishing reel and put the line through the sharpened missile-shaped projectile and shot it. We just traced the line. You require more than one thing of fishing line, naturally. We just connected the end of one roll to the beginning of the next. Worked like a charm. Just make sure that the string is knot/tangle free.

I actually kind of like the idea of the tailsection that shoots off a streamer on impact. The problem is I'm already at the weight limit of an ideal projectile.
Once I find one, I've discovered, it's really easy to find them on further shots, because you just stand out maybe 30 feet from where it landed initially, and the rest fall into the same general area.
I haven't hit any spotters....yet....

"On a scale from 1-10, I hope you fall in front of a bus."
:white stuff pours out of piston: "What is that? It looks like milk."
"....Well... it's not milk."
YAAAAAAAAYYYY WE'RE DOOMED!
