Jument - 2" Sprinkler Valve Cannon
My newest cannon, first one posted here.
I thought Jument would be a cool name. Look it up.
Cannon Specs.:
All pipe is sch. 40, everything is NSF-pw, no DWV. I don't want to kill myself.
2 3' 3" chambers
2" pneumatically actuated sprinkler valve (3/8" ball valve for actuation)
Interchangeable 2.5" tennis ball barrel and 1.5" potato and other crap barrel
A wicked paint job, If I do say so myself . . .
2 shrader valves for filling (bike pumps all the way!)
I normally operate it at around 70 psi, although I know I could definitely go up to around 115. 70 psi with bike pumps when you have around 7 to 8 square feet of chamber gets tiring after the 3rd or 4th shot.
This thing is so much fun! A great mix of power and portability, and pretty dang intimidating.
The paint on the 2.5" barrel seems to be chipping off (Although the 1.5" one seems fine . . . odd) so I'll probably sand and repaint it.
I've left the solenoid on just to plug the hole, might do it with some epoxy later.
I might post some damage pics, but its hard to capture the feeling of little chunks of potato raining down on you for 10 seconds after a shot at a piece of plywood 45 degrees to the ground.

Yeah those are bolt on shrader valves, I have 2 because its alot faster to pump this thing up with two bike pumps (I don't have an air compressor).
I took your advice on pain job. Knew you'd like it.
The valve was about $60 bucks from sprinklerwarehouse.com, yes i know someones going to say I should have made a piston, but I don't have the ability so far, I've been working with only a screw driver, hedge clippers and a hammer for now (You'd be surprised what you can get done!).

Great cannon, super cool paintjob. Cant wait to see some damage pics.
Load it with 5 pounds of BBs and blast something interesting
Consider investing in a hotglue gun so you can mold pistons in the future.

i love the paint :cyclopsani: how did you get the paint to look like that?
The paint was pretty simple: I sprayed the chamber and barrels with a base coat of black and red, respectively, and then after waiting a while I just sprayed back and forth across the pipe with the other color making the camo-style pattern. I used Krylon Fusion spray paint, perfect for PVC.
You can find 2" sprinkler valves at sprinklerwarehouse.com.
I recommend trying to find one locally first though, shipping can be expensive.

What? Do you dual wield bike pumps or something? I have 5 feet of 3'' chambers, and its a real pain to pump up, the pump starts getting funny after about 70 psi...jssizzle wrote: Yeah those are bolt on shrader valves, I have 2 because its alot faster to pump this thing up with two bike pumps (I don't have an air compressor).
Nice cannon, but it seems like it would be tricky to shoot stuff with the barrel at 45 degrees. So I guess the 2'' sprinkler dumps air a lot faster than a normal 1'' valve?
I love the paint job. I also have a 1.5'' crap barrel for my pneumatic

NICE cannon. i LOVE that paint job!!!
very nice lol.
very nice lol.
Haha yes Flying salt I have the muscles to use two bike pumps at the same time . . .
I usually shoot with friends and we have 2 guys pumping at the same time.
I would have put the barrel at a better angle but to fit the sprinkler valve on to the adapter I had to angle it upwards a little. Would have been really annoying to have assembled the chamber only to find the valve can't attach to it.
