I did test it, it holds air, but I am in the process of modifying the exhaust system (the 1/8" opening wasnt enough.) I also had to rebuild the piston, there were structural problems, but that is fixed now. Not giving up on it, its close.

Make a REALLY big tennis ball cannon!
Well, this valve has inspired me to build another 3" porting valve. My other one was nice in the power department, but in terms of aesthetics... meh...
My new valve will be shorter in appearance, more efficient, and will not require a big SCH 80 threaded plug to be unscrewed in order to service the piston (a PITA to do and it ate Teflon tape like no other...)
This one should only cost me about $40, compared to the $100+ I spent on the other valve... after all, this new one will only use 3-4 PVC fittings.
I don't know why I am rambling about this... just excited I guess .
Back on topic...
I can't wait to see your valve on a cannon! I really like the look of the rounded cap for the back end; it looks a lot smoother than the flat PVC plugs which are usually used.

the rubber cap on the piston bubbled out and jammed on the second test firing...So that needs to be replaced, but I'm feeling lazy,
