@ LucyInTheSky "You should trt and just solder it on as the temperatures are much lower."
That type of heat in a small area would kill it to. You can't hit them with any heat like that. They warp deform crack and stress form the heating and cooling.
Why do you think they never repair barrels they just get a new one.
I understand this may confuse you coz when you fire riffles the barrels get hot. but the heat is dispursed over a larger area and cools slowley. In sone instances I have had a barrel fail due to flaws from manifacture when fireing. Consecutive magazines. Hence the Oz Styer and the English LMG-45 the barels have to be changed out after every three mags so they can cool.

ok EDIT: he has a mig welder, and i think that a tig would do this job perfect.
or he could take the easy way out on the valve and have his plumbing supply store order a valve with mounting holes already built into it.

?????
they have been soldering barrels together to make double barrel shotguns for a long time .along with soldering sights on.
when they do repair a shot out barrel they solder in a barrel liner.
I'm pretty sure this pneumatic will be a lot less stressful than a firearm.
