Why not do this http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/spring- ... t7232.html and to make it powerfull, i guess all you have to do, isopen the gun up carefully, and remove the spring, take it to your local hardware store, and find one thats indentical, but is stronger, so when you fire it it is more powerfull. Just an idea, but good luck.

Not a viable idea in my opinion, you're not going to manage to get more power than a cheap airsoft pistol unless you have access to proper machining facilities and high quality materials.

Pneumatics offer much more power potential - look at commerical airguns, I've never seen a spring rifle do more than 40 ft/lbs (and for what we're talking about a massive heavy beast that is a real pain to cock) while pre-charged pneumatic rifles can exceed 1,000 ft/lbs.

Still, of you want to persist, have a look here for a very good tutorial of the mechanics involved.

An interesting idea would be to make one like the Whiscombe JW70 that uses two identical pistons that travel against eachother in the same tube, compressing air and transfering it to the barrel through a port in the centre of the tube.

I might try and make a pneumatic one then with a blowgun as a trigger and a coke bottle as a chamber air hose connecting the two with the barrel being removable to load the slug.

Just a question how could i connect the blowgun to the coke bottle with air hose especially around the joints whish is where i might have problems.

go to www.southsummit.com and look under airguns. then go to cleaning kits, then click on the b7 repair/cleaning kit. it comes with a nice spring and a piston that fits perfectly in 1'' pipe. when i say perfectly i mean it. use steel pipe though, i doubt that pvc could take the force.

edit- sorry, its the b3 and b4, not the b7. here is a direct link

Connecting the Barrel to the blowgun couldn't be simpler, just wrap it in tape until it fits the nozzle end (as per attachment)

As to connecting the coke bottle to the other end, remove the collar to expose the thread, drill a good sized hole in the cap and use lost of epoxy to keep it in place. The schrader valve for filling can go in the base of the bottle.

Of course anything above 50 psi and the thing will blow up :D

Sorry to sound like a wet blanket but unless you can machine metal, there's no way you can use the spring linked to above.

one of these, you mean?

Image

Depends on your valve, barrel length & diameter, chamber volume...

Instead of improvising, why not save up a little, head down to the hardware store, buy some proper fittings and make something like this in less time than it takes you to come home from the store?

another easy way to connect a blow gun to a coke bottle is...
well what i did, is i got 2 brass niples, some pressurated hose, and my blow gun and coke bottle, then i screwed he niple into the blow gun (when you buy it, make sure its the right size, or if its one without threads, by an adaptor) and i screwed that in with some teflon tape, then on the coke bottle, drilled a hole in the bottem (stronger plastic) and then put my nippl in my drill and drilled it inot the hole i had just drilled, make sure not to drill the first hole to big, just drill it so the threads cant fit, then when the nipple is in the drill, drill it it, put teflon tape on first aswell, and then i got my car tire (Brand new) and put that in the cap, and then get your hose, push on to th nipples, one in each end, then put on some of those tightening clamps, and your done.
