Hey guys, ive just came up with this design, mixing all designs ive made, and added some other bits and pieces to it, just wondering before i go out and make it, is there anything wrong with the design, and posibly the tank might last longer then 1 shot, as a blowgun close fairly quickly, the picture below is pretty self explanitry, if you have any questions please ask. and i forgot too add, the bb barrel is cased in 20mm, like i mean the 20mm goes over the barrel.

i encourage any ideas or suggestions you might have, constructive critisism, thanks in advance

might is suggest a few holes towards the muzzle end of the barrel so that air will bleed into the 20mm shroud and yo´'ll have an integral silencer

Ok, that doesnt sound like a too bad of an idea. i will consider that, thanks jackssmirkingrevenge, but does anyone think it would work?

no valve??? whats going on man? what are ya gonna use this for?

you will definitely get more than one shot with a blowgun
a blowgun is nowhere near sufficient for a "sniper" type gun. you will probably be looking at a max range of 10 meters if ya lucky.

the gun is nicely laid out for its shape and size, but you should capitalize and back it up with some power. a sprinkler or even better a piston valve.

soz to "dis" your design but i think you have enough the knowledge required to incorporate a bit of power into this thing.

I doubt performance will be so dismal if he can "shock" the blowgun trigger - using a 6mm barrel 36 inches long, using a blowgun as a valve attached to my compressor at 110 psi, I can put a 0.22 pellet through both sides of a soup-tin.

No no, i want an honest opinion, this was just a thought. but thatnks for being honest. i would rather be told something like that, then go waste lots of money. cheers.

ok well i have tried it at 260psi man and it is very poor.

but why not put a lil bit more effort in and do a piston, it would be awesome to have power and a rely good looking stock to go with it.

build a piston valve housed in a 1" tee (trus me it aint that hard) and go from there.

wont work. like chaos said blowguns aint made to allow a rapid outflow of gas. Thats why u use it WITH a sprinkler valve.

If you are dead set on one of these designs might i suggest using a fire extinguisher handle, rather than a blowgun. It has a higher rate of flow, but u might need to mess around with your design for it to look pleasing to the eye again.

Don't be quick to dismiss the blowgun.

Here's a few videos I just made for the naysayers, 110 psi, 6mm barrel 39 inches long, using a blowgun as a valve. Ammo is a 0.22 lead pellet.

and here's what I used:

may be for multiple shots you can set it up like
large tank-needle valve-tiny chammber-blowgun-barrel
the needle valve can bleed air into the tiny chammber, its not 100% air effiecnt, but if you want full efficency
large tank-ball valve-tiny chammber-blowgun-barrel
but then you have to turn the valve to refill each time

You might want to consider a small diaphram valve.

If you have an old dishwasher or laundry washer you can use the water supply valve for a small bore compressed air gun.

I used one of these a while back for a <a href="http://home.earthlink.net/~jimsluka/dia ... tml">"mini" cloud BBMG</a> firing 0.177 BBs using 36"x1/4" brakeline for barrel. (Note: The valve is actually 3/8" not the 3/4" the linked page says.)

ROF's of ~120 RPS (but it only holds about 100 BBs) and muzzle velocities of ~350 FPS.

In a single shot gun with a larger gas resevoir you might get much better muzzle velocities than I was getting with a BBMG.

You don't need high flow for a BB gun anyway, air can only escape through the barrel so fast.

that looks good to me, i think that the blowgun wont affect how fast it fires its a small bb and like hotwired said it can only go down the barrel so fast...

Cool plan, should work but i dont know much about pneumatics. My suggestion is keeping it airpowered but not pneumatic. I have seen these really cool air cyclinders that have a shaft that you could use to shoot the pellet or BB. Here is the url of the page with them on it, the company (MPJA) is very easy to work with, with great prices and service. Here it is, http://www.mpja.com/listitems.asp?dept=156. You could possibly utilize these cyclinders something like a pinball machine. Hope this might give you a cool idea. Thanks for hearing (reading) me out. Spudzinger
