M.H.I.S Real Rifle.

-25mm modded sprinkler valve.
-55cm rifled 3/4 barrel.
-40mm class 12 chamber 30cm long.
-Red dot laser.
-Bi-Pod.
-Awesome to the max turbo! .
-130PSI running pressure.

Look much like a usual pneumatic spudgun usual refereed to as a Rifle, and yes this is a Rifle as it has its own 3/4 rifled barrel.Right hand twist, one whole turn every 60cm.So this barrel is just shy of one full twist of rifling.

Ammunition used on this cannon is usually marbles and carrot slugs with rounded ends with a lead weight at front and for that extra little punch. The carrot slugs when loaded into the barrel are pushed down with a ramrod with a handle which also acts as a stopper as not to push the slug out of the end of the barrel and into the valve. As the slug is being pushed down the rifling bites into the slug and twists on its way down so the ram rod also twists which is cool because you know the rifling actually does effect how the projectile acts in the barrel.

Haven't had a chance to long range test this Rifle but at about 20 meters it is very acurate, which it is supposed to be.Marbles are great fun leave nice holes in tree bark and one of my doors by accident. The laser does work to an extent as i haven't used it as night yet so i cant see past about 10meters using the laser so some night shooting will come.

enough words picture time!

Enough words,pics are ahead.

Nice gun... love the rifling, you buy that off Joel?
If you wanted to improve accuracy, you should have used a longer barrel, I find that 1-1.5 meters works best, cause now you are probably not using the whole chamber's worth of air (hence not getting maximum spud, or carrot, velocity) Other than that, very nice indeed.

Seconded - and if it's the rifling that's putting you off, note that you can have a say 1 metre long barrel with only the last 50cm or less being rifled.

I would of had a longer barrel if I could But I kinda rushed to finish this cannon because of the old deadline. It would be about 1 meter in length if I got the chance.

Jack-Yes only the lasy 50cm or so of the barrel could be rifled to get the same effect but trying to push the tool back through in the other direction would be a no no,it could be done but I wouldn't try it just to save me a barrel.

Yes I did rifle the barrel myself this is not Joels work, and he is no longer in business and the SGTC is up for sale.So no more Rifled barrels for now.

So... rna... any chance of some pics of your rifling tool? I don't think I've seen a non-machined barrel look soo good. After the comp of course :D Good luck mate!

Well it's very simple  .And I am working on a newer machine that will probably use a button cutting tool.Mainly 3/4 barrels and I am going to test various different twist rates.

Also look in the How-To section there is a section on it there.Under Rifled Barrels or something.

Yeh it's a cheap one from markets goes a good 50 meters or so,only was $5.

Well people often call there pneumatic small bore cannons Rifles even though they lack the feature of a Rifled barrel which is were the name comes from..

And as far as i know i am the only one with a rifled barrel so far in this size.
