Pardon my lack of knowledge but I have a question about your 9/32 3 foot barrel... what kinda space does your bb have inside it? Like what size gap between the bb and the inside of the barrel?

Im not familiar with the 9/32 barrel size..

And does anyone think I will get the same kinda 3 to 5 degree angle from an airsoft barrel?

And Id like to make a chart of what distances people are getting in corrilation to PSI..

(well at least my attempt which probably didn't use the finest materials) if you want range use heavier bbs, the heavier the bb the more accurate it is, the more fps it has, and the more range it gets. i don't really suggest getting anything over .28g becuase its just way to expensive when you can shoot 100 a second. ive played roughtly 10 games with my vortex setup which started out as a T vortex gun with a 5 gallon compressed air tank into what it is now a inline with a 5lb reg'ed co2 setup. the sound of it firing alone will make people run in fear, muhahahaha
The way it fires is actually more like a flamethrower which sprays the BBs out. I see what you mean about it being like a shotgun though.

I am using a 7 gallon airtank on my back for this upcoming airsoft game. Did you get alot of kills when you played with your 5 gallon? I helped make my friend a vortex gun, so now our team is gonna have 2 BBMGs to happily shred the other team to bits. We will also be bringing two 6 gallon compressors to refill. I might possibly make this other kid on our team a vortex gun which he is willing to pay me to make it! That makes it three! Three BBMGs raining hell all over the other teams nooby little snipers!

And now for the 3 to 5 degree thing... I use an airsoft barrel which also spreads them out 3-5 degrees, but that 9/32 barrel will make your bbs less likely to get stuck and it also makes the BBs slow down a little bit in velocity.

Im really stubborn about buying guns.. I mean.. id rather make them myself!
EDIT: The whole point of this is to make a inline vortex gun that will be capable of out performing AEG's in every aspect...

So Im calling for everyone that has made and used their vortex gun for airsoft! please give me all the details and dont BS around..

Most of my vortex guns will easily shoot 150 feet accurately (115 psi); after that, it's extremely hard to see them.

at 115 psi what is your rate of fire and fps?

ROF is about 75-120 rps depending on the gun. The fps is hard to judge, but by shooting my paintball gun at the same time, I'd say it's about 400 fps.

what BB weight are you using? 400 FPS with a .2 would hurt......... however 400 FPS with a .12 would just sting a little.

on bare skin, more than a little. I have a little springer than pistol that does 240 fps with 0.12g BBs and it stings a lot, at 400 fps the BB would have 2.75 times the muzzle energy

yeah, i guess. ist just that BB weight effects the mizzle energy much more than BB speed.

a .2 gram bb going 350 FPS goes striaght through soda cans like butter
a .12 gram goes through one side, and dents the other

and of course, a .3 gram going at 350 FPS goes through the bottom of soda cans...........

EDIT: to measure the FPS of your strafer, just load 1 BB into the chamber....... sure it wastes gas but it should be going the same speed all the other BB's would come out, mabey even faster........

Quite the opposite actually:

Muzzle energy is 0.5 x mass x velocity x velocity

which means that if you double the mass for the same velocity, you get double the muzzle energy, while if you double the velocity for the same mass, you'll get four times the muzzle energy.

oh. well that changes my view on that subject...........

still, 400 FPS with a .3 gram BB will get stuck in your skin without a problem........... (from nearly point blank)
