As "hi" was saying i shouldnt go over 60 psi becuz of my fittings, if i were to use it at 60psi with the fittings already on there..how much power would i get from 60 psi out of a cannon this size? enough to throw a spud 200 yards or so?

At 60 psi, you should probably buy a sprinkler to get better performance. 1.5 ball valvs are a bitch to turn. (unless you got the meatl one)

It probably would do 200yds, I do recommend switching the parts out for pressure rated parts though, that way if you use a ball valve then you could get the pressure safely to around 200psi. It is however a very nice gun, especially for your first, congrats!!!

thanks alot! yea, im gunna try it with 60 psi with what i have on it now when i get my ball valve(metal) and see how it does, but eventually change the fittings, only have $6 into the fittings, so no biggy

the reduceing peice you need is a bushing you fit it inside a coupler. here a picture of the right reducer.

fittings are cheap surgery isnt. but for safty sake just replace the parts.

Update:

Ok call me stupid but im keeping the fittings i have on it for now and the ball vavle is on, so when i go to test it tommorow should i put air in it and let it sit to see if anything is going to go wrong?

Thats exactly the problem mate. You cannot determine the exact time or even a vague estimate to when it might fail. It could pop on the first time or 2 months down the track. If your test shows that it didn't fail, that would only make it more likely to fail the next time. If you value current way of life, don't play roulette and just replace the fittings.

ok, so its all done, now for those who know and see my fittings are wrong,,,Ive decided to use it for a low pressure gun, so nothing over 55 or 60 or maybe less. Gunna have a little fun with this one and then next pay day build a new one, the right way..

wrap the bad parts it in alot of duct tape, just incase. maybe 5 layers. if you have any chicken wire or mesh then go around with that too.

mesh on the inside and duct tape on the out side.

for a first it looks good. much better than my first. i didnt know about this web site when i built my first, so as you can guess it sucked because i didnt have anything to base it one, hell i didnt even know that pvc glue existed. it was fun, but very ugly. i wound up using pvc (epoxy to glue the pvc), copper elbows that were epoxyed toogether and alluminum electrical pipe (not pressure rated) for the barrel. now that i think about it, mine did suck! but then again i

Wasn't there a thread on spudtech rendering the use of duct tape/chicken wire useless for protecting the operator from shrapnel?

there was one, but only for duct tape. with the use of mesh it will stop it.
