Saw these at Big W today.. So I bought one..$30
It has a lot of potential I think, the insides are very much like those of an AEG..
I'll probably put in a much stronger motor, run it off a lipo battery, put a bigger plunger and piston setup, and setup a T-feed mag for BB's..
If its successful I'll do a whole writeup and such.. But for now its open for you all to discuss and hurl ideas at me :)

HA,HA,HA we seem to have the same idea often= I seen a Tv add for these and thought of trying to make it an AEG too :D .

Will take some serious modding to get any decent power though

Sure will.. I'd be happy if it had the same power as my nerf maverick that I converted to a BB gun. The biggest problem I can see so far, it the length of the draw back the stock gearing provides. It's probably about 1/2 the draw back the nerf gun takes to cock, so I'm sceptical that this will be a large enough volume.

Hey Mate,
I thought this was a really interesting idea. I saw your coil gun post the other day, So I figured that the big wet has run its course and left you time to pursue things other than just not getting washed away, was wondering if you'd made any more progress on this?

A project I've been thinking about is to get something like this or one of those cheap mini-AEG's, and to configure the piston as a striker to hit a CO2 hammer valve.

Since the action would be electrically actuated, you could even salvage a valve from a pump action paintball gun.

Or, some gas powered airsoft guns and some CO2 bb pistols contain the valve in the magazine such as this one:

One advantage to using such a magazine is that it contains a BB magazine and feeding is potentially (but not necessarily) simplified.

I'd say that could complicate feeding... It would be kind of hard to feed that mag into something homemade unless you have machining capabilities. I see what you mean though.

If a small enough hammer valve (or large enough magazine) was available, putting the valve within the magazine would be viable.

A blowgun valve could work, implementing it would be somewhat challenging.

Ah, spudtech ;)

True, for all intents and purposes the magazine on my Yunker is a gun in its own right and can be rather amusingly be made to fire without being fitted :D

Nice ideas, but in Aussie land we cant get co2 mags, or airsoft guns or paintball guns or anything. The whole point of the original post was it was as close to an AEG as we can get in Australia.

You can get co2 mags and pb guns, you just need a gun licence.

True, however for example you do get blowguns, remove the trigger et voila, you have a ready made hammer valve. Lateral thinking ;)

And you have to keep it in a locked box etc etc etc... All in all I dont really see it worth the trouble.

Another thing we CAN get here, is those quick fill bike tyre c02 setups. Screw the c02 in, and the little adapter is already a hammer valve, I think.

But the flow from those is rather average, I belive the merits of firearm licenses outweigh the trouble.

It isn't "that" hard to get a class H handgun license, nor is a class B longarm.

AEG gearboxes can be made from numerous plans floating around, that watergun looks as if it wouldn't like being dry fired.

Though many props are in order if someone can make that shoot to some degree.

Can you post a link to that cheap AEG JSR? The old line didnt work and that idea seems feasible.
