I have a 1.5 inch quick exhaust valve, id had it since i was a youngster, it dumps air the fastest ive ever seen, its just nasty, and its never broken on me, its solid aluminum with a rubber gasket inside, its my favorite, even my 3/4 inch valve has alot of power, i suggest looking for them:)

though question i would say steel is the best material for piping
as for valves I know a few great types
1 qev great for high velocity
2 one way valves are very useful to get the air to go in the right places
3 butterfly valves are the best for trigger
4 psi regulator valves are so useful for controlling power of your shot
5 hammer pin valves are good to increase velocity
6 air intake valves are always needed

Quick exhaust valves are definitely the best. I have an aluminum one but I noticed many things about it that could be improved so I decided to try to make one myself. At first I thought about casting one out of aluminum with a 3d printed mold. It turned out that the 3d print was more than strong enough by itself especially when printer completely solid.

Here is the 3d model for free: https://www.printables.com/model/108996 ... aust-valve

hello, all depend on what you whant your canon to do or launch. QEV are great for one shot canon or large caliber. Hammer valve are the best for small caliber and multi shot like PCP airgun. QDV are awsome but you have to make them, can be tricky.
